Frequency modeling via heuristic analysis allows to isolate sound producers (e.g. individual players in an orchestra). The digitized recording can then be manipulated in real time, for example, by transposing an instrument.

A model of the sonic space must be created, but unlike spacial audio, this representation is based on an ontology of music theory and a vast compilation of the properties of instruments used in contemporary classical music.
